The story

Who am I?

After a sedentary life as a farmer and then as a hotel and restaurant owner, I went to discover India and its colors and I hunted for bargains... Today, I want to share my discoveries with you. I chose the Jaipur region for the variety of its recycled (Kanthas) and colorful (block print) fabrics. Little by little, I created a small network of friends there and I meet them every year with pleasure.

The Kantha

Kantha is one of the oldest forms of embroidery in India (before 1500 BC), more precisely in Bengal. These are cotton or silk fabrics assembled using a skill that is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The pieces are unique and often reversible, handcrafted by women in rural areas.

Block printing

This is hand printing using blocks (carved wooden stamps). It is applied by pattern and color. The irregularity of the printing is what makes these fabrics so charming, as their colors come from plant dyes or chili peppers.
